Oakley, based in Lake Forest, California and a subsidiary of the Italian company Luxottica based in Milan, was created by James Jannard in 1975. It designs, develops and manufactures sports equipment and lifestyle pieces such as sunglasses, ski / snowboard masks, clothes, backpacks and other accessories.
Most of Oakley's innovations and technologies were developed after testing by athletes even in the most extreme conditions.
Oakley currently holds more than 600 patents for glasses, materials and equipment.
